Earlier this week, Hobby Lobby has opened in the former Toys Я Us building on Wolf Rd. in Colonie, NY.
All windows were bricked in, while two sets of doors were added to the left-hand side.
Americana AMW-85 shopping cart. Hobby Lobby stopped ordering their carts with blue trim.
All ceiling fans were removed and lighting was converted to generic suspended tube lighting. Also all flooring was replaced with equally generic white vinyl tile.
Otherwise, a typical Hobby Lobby interior.
The facade looks more or less nice, but a little bland without all the windows, especially considering most Hobby Lobby stores seem to have windowed vestibules. I wonder why they didn't go for them here. Also a little off-center, with the doors off to the left like that (and again, without any other windows to counteract that).
ReplyDeleteHobby Lobby is a former-TRU tenant I hadn't seen before though, so that's cool. I've seen lots of Ollie's and Big Lots conversions. Possibly some furniture stores as well.
