The Big Lots Store Closures of 2024 - The New York Locations

This older Big Lots store located at 316 Cornelia Street in Plattsburgh is one of the New York stores scheduled to close.

As Big Lots continues to schedule additional store closures nationwide as a potential bankruptcy filing looms, they have announced the closure of hundreds of stores nationwide. Here in New York, 10 stores (as of August 3, 2024) are scheduled to close, some of which are Upstate and a mix of older locations as well as some newer Store of the Future locations. This is part of a nationwide store closure wave that currently totals 293 stores as of this writing. A Reddit user in the retail community has compiled a full list of closures nationwide, which can be seen here. Also included are links to additional store closing lists straight from their bankruptcy filing, downloadable as PDF files. These locations will appear before the store closing banner shown on the store locator.

Here is a list of closures in the state of New York, with pictures corresponding to locations the author has visited. As this is an ongoing story, more locations will be added as future closings are announced:

For stores that are liquidating, the following banner will be on the top of the store's detail page:

This comes after previous closures claimed other stores in Upstate New York such as Colonie and Hudson. We will keep you posted on any future closings.
