Innovation Failed: Target of Amsterdam, NY

This was originally supposed to be Friday's post until a disturbing find at the attached Kohl's broke my concentration. Anyway we will be looking at a Target store straight out of 2008, well almost...

Exterior photo taken on June 6, 2022; all other photos taken on February 11, 2022.

This Target store was built in 2008 as the first building to fill the footprint of Super Kmart #4923 after being demolished a year prior.

Cart Tax: After over 13 years of having all-plastic Bemis carts, this store replaced them with these wire-framed TransNav units. Some of the Bemises are still astray.

As you will notice, the walls in this area are not grey like many stores. Rather they are red with neon arches like the rest of the store.

Only the carpet was changed to the Innovation style. This replaced the long-time "french fry" styled carpet. At least the walls were not painted grey.

Pizza Hut and Starbucks are present.
