This store, located at Glen Square in Queensbury operates out of the left half of a former Eckerd and adjoining storefront, which became PriceRite in 2002. After PriceRite's closure in 2021, the space was gutted and became a Big Lots. This Big Lots would close shortly after their 2024 bankruptcy filing was announced. While its grand opening is tomorrow, February 22nd, the store had a soft opening earlier this week.
Cart Tax: As this is a new opening, this store contains a uniform set of these foreign-made American-style shopping carts. These are a grey version of what newer and updated Ollie's stores use.
Inside the vestibule to your left are where the carts were stored. This was where Big Lots stored their carts.
In typical Job Lot fare, you enter on one side after entering. This store starts with clothing items on the left side. Restrooms are along the front left wall.
Looking back toward the front. Craft items can be seen, with the food department being located after them.
Garden and seasonal items line the left side of the store here. Note the grey vinyl tile and faux-wood flooring; those were left behind by Big Lots as part of their Store of the Future design.
Departments ranging from hardware, housewares, health & beauty, and pet supplies line the right-hand side of the store.
Register area. The checklane lights use the Helvetica Neue font to match the decor package seen in newer and updated stores. You probably already know about the yellow paint job Job Lot gives their stores, which over here is a step-up from the bland white walls Big Lots had.
